Disc brakes are the standard in most vehicles on the market today. They work by applying friction to the wheel’s disc with brake pads, slowing the speed. Over time, pads, rotors and calipers may need to be replaced. In most cases, there are tell-tale signs of disc brake failures.
Symptoms of faulty or failing disc brakes can include: hard to stop (poor brake performance, squealing/grinding/clicking noises during braking, grabbing/pulling to one side, pulsation of brake pedal during stops and ABS light indication. One of the most common symptoms, and one of the easiest to diagnose are squeaking brakes.
